Pampering ?????  Everyone you speaks to who has ever been to Bangkok will tell you “you must get a ‘proper’ Thai massage, and a bit of ‘personal pampering’ “.  But on our last night in Thailand, we decided to go one step further.

We wanted to both experience being pampered, and we both wanted to indulge in an experience that was so exotic, that we would leave Bangkok feeling fabulous, relaxed, and very special.

After over three years of full-time travel, I think Explorason deserved some special pampering too.

I was so stressed when we arrived outside Divana Massage and Spa.

Firstly it decided to rain so taxis seemed to swoosh by, and we had trouble finding one that would take us to our appointment.  The driver had then been caught in a traffic jam, and then the taxi driver could not locate where our appointment was.  So we ended up giving up on him, and walking as the rain stung my sun-kissed face (A little too much sun from our long-tail boat ride the day before).

So when I finally walked in more than half an hour late, I was a frazzled mess, but as I wandered through the lush gardens I knew the stress would be left behind as I walked in through the front doors.

The relaxing music and the aromatic vapors filled the air, and we were relaxed as they offered a lovely drink.

Then a lovely man named Bowling came and chatted with me.  I’d already contacted Divana Massage and Spa so I knew exactly which treatment we both wanted.

But Bowling then systematically offered us a range of oils we could select from.  These would be used as part of our massage treatment.

Because we were a family, we were given the double room. An ideal room for couples, but as Bowling explained, it is also well used for friends who book together, and for the increasing number of parents who are now introducing their children to finer delights in life – of personal spa packages.

Explorason looked in on one of the bowls and wondered if he had cheesy delights, but actually, they were Sericin Silk Thread Spinning Fingertips that were going to be used as part of my treatment.

First off we both started with a lovely foot soak with rose petals.

This is the Ashiyu Foot Soak & Refreshing Foot Toner.

Explorason loved the foot scrub and massage.  He normally doesn’t like people touching his feet, but the ladies were expertly trained and very gentle with the products, the pressure and the amount of time they allowed his indulgence experience.

We both then headed off to our own beds for massage and for my facial treatments.

Agan Explorason absolutely LOVED his very relaxing massage. She was very gentle and his treatment we had chosen was the Aroma Massage with the base Aroma oil that is good for sensitive skin and ideal for children of his age and skin type.

I can honestly say that my skin looked 20 years younger.  Just look at the completely untouched photo below.  My skin is VERY sun damaged, dry and being a redhead it ages very quickly.

Oh to have skin this fabulous every day!  I’ve never in my life experienced anything like it.

My treatments continued and Explorason finished his amazingly relaxing massage and adored his rose petal milk bath.

To his delight, they then offered him some fresh fruits and juice in the bath. He thought this was just brilliant. Way better than ‘breakfast in bed’ he later told me.

When his bath finished he then dressed and went out to the general area where Bowling and the other staff chatted with him, and he enjoyed taking some photographs of the beautiful plants and products.

I continued on with more facial treatments which included the organic honey – which was just so aromatic.

With extremely sensitive skin, I was really pleased with the attention to detail and research Divana Massage and Spa has made to ensure their products are of the highest quality.

After about three hours – yes three whole hours – I finally sunk into the perfect warmth of the Organic Golden Cocoon Luminous Bath.

Inside the milky liquid rose petals floated and the Sericin Silk Thread Spinning Fingertips bobbed up and down adding further silkiness tot the warm water.

I have no idea how long I lay partially submerged, but finally, I think it was about 8:30 p.m. when I dressed and ended my Organic Golden Silk Royal Pampering Session.

Waiting outside ever so patiently was our lovely new friend, Bowling Jira.  He must have thought we were a little eccentric, but we asked him if we could take his photograph with us.  He was ever such a caring and delightful man, and he really had aided in ending our time in Bangkok perfectly.
