Spending Sunday in the Salubrious Sisley Spa in Serbia
This week was my 53rd birthday, and it turned out to be a great week, and it was going to end perfectly.
It started with us driving from the top northern border of Romania, through Hungary and ending up in Novi Sad for a few days.
And from there, we headed to Belgrade.
We were glad it was Sunday, as this is a larger city (of around two million people) than we have encountered in quite a while, but the traffic was easy to handle. I located a car park right on the very next street from Square Nine – a luxury hotel where I was going for my late birthday pampering at the Sisley Spa.
I found Sisley Spa when searching on a wonderful website I use – Destsetters. This website is ideal when we are looking for luxury accommodation and travel destinations.
As soon as we entered the downstairs reception area, the air gently permeated a soft hint of relaxing essential oils. I was offered a lovely fruit water in the welcoming area whilst we waited to be shown through the Sisley Spa area.
And then it was into the change rooms for us, where we were given a locker, plush toweling robes and slippers.
I was impressed by the perfection of all that appeared before us. The gym room has completely different temperature regulation than the pool area, so those using the equipment were nice and cool. Several types of fruit water, Fiji water, and iced teas were available too.
We had plenty of time to relax before my massage time.
So first off for me was simply just a nice rest. Even though it was a birthday week, I managed to get sick with a head cold that was thankfully on the way out. Plus with driving through three countries, I really was tired.
I then headed into the Japanese ‘Ofuro’ Jacuzzi Hot Tub. This had two fabulous jets positioned perfectly to ease my back tension.
Next for me was the pool. This is not a salt or chlorinated pool, rather air is used oxygenate the water, which is by far better for the skin and hair.
The whole layout of the Sisley Spa is perfect. The soft lighting in the pool area gives a relaxed ambiance.
The attentiveness of the staff and management was perfect. Whilst I was in the pool, they had asked my preference for tea, and there awaiting me on my exit was a Moroccan Mint Infuser, along with their own bottled honey.
To my total surprise, I turned around to see the manager had organized a surprise for Explorason too.
The waiter served him a ‘White Lady’ with berry coulis shaped like a fruit, that melted softly. I confess, I devoured this fruit (part of his treat), whilst the main dessert Explorason consumed with delight.
After a few more rounds of alternating between the Japanese ‘Ofuro’ Jacuzzi Hot Tub and the swimming pool, it was time for me to try one of the two sauna rooms. I chose the Turkish style wet sauna, whilst Explorason stayed out quietly giving me some peace. This so improved my breathing – it really was incredible the difference I felt after sitting in here for only a few minutes.
Then to finish my time was a relaxing massage. There are two massage rooms available, and the lady really was highly skilled. She eased the back tension with magnificent skill and smooth and relaxing motions, as she gently worked my muscles.
This had been a perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
If you are coming to Belgrade, can I suggest you make a booking for a well earned time of rest and relaxation at the Sisley Spa? – you will adore it.
