If you are heading to Langkawi, then bookmark this post.
Here we share some of the best places to eat. Some are a little unusual, and we have tried to cater to all needs, and to varying budgets also.
If you are too tired, or just super relaxed, we have included some takeaway as an option to consider.
Langkawi is also the perfect place to dine as the sun sets over the ocean.

The Brasserie
Here we enjoyed DINNER of fish and chicken main courses, and a dessert for Explorason.
The location is perfect – right on the beach, and we raced out from our dining tables for sunset photos.
Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi
This is where we started our day with a typical Malay style buffet breakfast. This upscale beachfront resort is overlooking the Strait of Malacca.
Enjoy their beautiful gardens, and a free foot massage on the pebble path, specially designed for this purpose.
Red Tomato Restaurant and Lounge
If you are centrally located, why not pop in here for lunch.
I even overheard the lady at the next table from us saying “it was the best salad I’ve ever had”. It also has a great eclectic decor.
Kampong Siam
Don’t be fooled by the casual decor of this next restaurant. It is packed at dinner time with both locals and tourists, as the food is fresh, and seafood can be chosen fresh from the aquariums.

Laman Padi Rice Field – Seashell Restaurant
If you are after a unique dining experience, why not eat seated over the rice paddies? The food is traditional and just fantastic. One of our best memories.

The Cliff Langkawi
For the perfect sunset dinner, make sure you reserve a table over the water’s edge for your evening meal here. Not only is the view fabulous, we had amazing service, great food, and as we left we popped into the bar where live music was in full swing. Highly recommended.
Set a little out of the main drag, you can enjoy relaxed dining at the Sun Cafe. Again the food and service were just amazing, their milkshakes are a specialty, and the vanishes are frangipani, leaving you feeling you’ve just enjoyed a piece of Island paradise.

Schawan Kopitiam Restaurant
Everyone needs to visit Eagle Square when visiting Langkawi. Here is the home of the giant eagle. After your fun photos, why not stop and dine at this great new restaurant.
The management was ever so friendly. Love every aspect of our visit. Here we enjoyed a treat talking with a famous artist named ‘Amanda’ who paints with coffee.

Night Markets of Langkawi
Every tourist and traveler needs to make sure they have time for an evening stroll at one of Langkawi’s famous night markets. Authentic and local foods can be enjoyed. The highlight for me was tasting sea coconut. At various locations, so please check the website for the one that suits your location and timeframe.

Ambong-Ambong Tropical Rainforest Retreat
We ate at Ambong-Ambong for most of our breakfasts. They can organize a more formal breakfast with other guests in the main dining area. The guest lounge area overlooks the beach in front of you; the rainforest to either side; and the swimming pool to your rear. A great place to mingle with other guests for their complimentary in-house afternoon tea, or a drink by the pool.
We also loved our traditional Malaysian breakfast. Market fresh produce is sourced daily, so each morning is something fresh and new.

Hole in the Wall Floating Restaurant
Take a trip out to the Kilim river to The Hole in The Wall. You can see their fish farm; touch a shark, feed a stingray, and even hold a puffy fish!
Dine here, and then enjoy a Mangrove Tour.

We finished our amazing time in Langkawi with the perfect sunset cruise with Naam Adventure – this is a must do experience, and incredible food, drinks, and fun is guaranteed.
Wow, looks like you had plenty to eat in Langkawi! But glad to see you recovered from your safari coffee mishap. 😀
