French Cooking Lessons
We have been house sitting our way around the world.
Not always mind you do we house sit, but we always make friends, and this house-sit in France is no different.
In fact, the man across diagonally is exceptionally nice to us.

We had a broken bonnet clip on the car and he fixed it for us.
He took us to the mechanic with a car problem.
And then he invited us to try his local region wine (where he grew up as a child) and to experience the mushrooms he has gathered in the woods.
When he helped us with a repair on the car and asked me if I like mushrooms. He then offers to teach us about the French mushrooms that next night, so over we go.

His friend (the goat farm co-owner) is there as well and it is a fun night.

We also get to help prepare the mushrooms.
I set to work chopping them into small pieces in preparation for the dinner.

But only after about 2 hours of Aperitifs that he had prepared himself.
This included homemade bread, vegetarian paté, and other delights.

He drains them off and serves them with a type of couscous, and we have brought a salad and some bread along too.

We had a lovely evening.
We share travel stories and had a laugh.
We really enjoyed the night.
Another great reason to house sit is definitely making new friends.
