Set in the tiny back streets of Lloret de Mar, and away from the hustle and bustle of the partying, you will find the hip, modern and chic Aqua Bertran Hotel.
This is the area of Catalunya, Spain and is a really popular place for the French, Germans, Spanish and Italians to take their holidays at, as well as the English (to name a few).
We stayed here for our last night after our Family Trip exploring the area. (I’ll write about those days separately so stay tuned for them!).
We arrived quite late in the afternoon / early evening, so all quiet down at the pool.
This we could see directly from our balcony – it was just gorgeous.
We were in a Junior Suite Premium, which was full of light, and very, very spacious. And with groovy furniture too.
The room was really like a big rectangle, with a glass divider behind the bed. Here was the en-suite.
The photo does it no justice, but it included lovely toiletries and because of the glass, it was filled with light.
The toilet was separate and private at the other end of the hotel room.
We headed downstairs to eat dinner at the restaurant. It was delightful to have so many fresh salad choices. Our family trip we had just completed of the area had been an amazing time of overindulging, and I just felt like a light and healthy dinner, so this was perfect for both of us. In fact, I even only drank water. I really had enjoyed so much rich and delightful food these past few days, and washed them down with so many delicious local wines, that tonight I decided to start a health kick. Not sure how long it will last though, as we remain in Spain a few days after this, and we are going to a resort. Oh my!
This was buffet style and had a selection of English foods (to suit the many Britons that visit the area) and also local cuisine.
Lots of modern touches like this wall can be found around the hotel. Filled with books, and also an area with a few games too.
These functional bookshelves can be found around the hotel as dividing walls.
I like the stuffed fabric moose heads and Spanish bullheads too. Very quirky! This was a little reading corner with cushions. Other areas had swinging chairs and lunges, and of course, there was a brilliant outdoor area by the pool.
Around the corner was a full-length bar and cafe.
In the morning we enjoyed breakfast in the same dining room.
I was pretty pleased to see a wide selection of hot foods that I had missed for several months. All the English favorites including baked beans on toast.
And some delicious fresh fruits and yogurts, along with a great mix of bread and pastries. Yum!
Even though we only stayed one night here, I’d recommend it in a heartbeat.
We are heading north now to experience the Cerdanya Resort in Spain.
So stay tuned for that beautiful area.
