During the early days of our stay at Lloret de Mar, we walked down to the Oficina de Turisme or Tourist Office in Lloret de Mar to enquire about kid-friendly places to eat and play.
And armed with some recommendations we headed out to explore the area.
Little did I know Lloret de Mar had an upmarket restaurant and several different types of accommodation – all at the same place – for BOTH eating and playing – that is a winner for me.

It is Gnomo Park – a fun place to eat and entertain the whole family, with a lovely Catalan style restaurant, and a place for the whole family to have some fun.

We start with ordering the kids’ menu for Explorason and adults’ menu for me.
This came with a half liter carafe of local Catalunyan red wine, and I was starting to relax. I didn’t drink too much as I need to be on the ball to have fun after this.

I had a Tapas platter for starters and it was way better than it looked – in fact, it was so filling I didn’t know how to eat my main course.

We liked the traditional decor of this restaurant, and it was soon filling with local families who eat lunch a lot later than us.

I ordered Fideua which is Paella but made with noodles and is a seafood based dish. If you come to Catalunya, you must try this.

Even Explorason tried this and loved it.
The taste is incredible and I must say it is worth visiting here just to taste this. Not at all what I would expect from a fun park.

Next, we headed out to Mini Golf.
Explorason was actually jumping up and down with excitement in the restaurant when he found out this was next.

There are two courses – one basic and one advanced, and we selected the basic course.

It is set amongst the Mediterranean pines and can take at least an hour.

We hit the ball around the 18 holes as fast as we could, because we wanted to experience Arbre Aventura.

We were fitted for the course, and then had a lesson on using the equipment which is a double locking system, and the best I have used so far in safety.

Explorason headed off at a great speed. We selected the medium course for this as there are three courses to choose from.

It takes about an hour and a half to complete and is a good workout for this 53-year-old Mum.

We both loved the zip lining the best.

If you visit Lloret de Mar you need to take the time to do something for your health.

Go and eat a great meal, and then go and play.
