The minute you walk into Fiori di Murano at the Royal Hotel Sanremo your eyes fixed on the glass flowers. These appear suspended from the ceiling, as chandeliers, on the walls, and artistically decorate this magnificent restaurant.
We have made a reservation for the smaller of the two dining rooms, with the larger being a grand room with exquisite decor.
We instantly remember our trip to Murano, Venice Italy last year where we fell in love with the glass flowers we saw there, so it is beautiful to see so many here in this regal hotel. To be in a restaurant surrounded by these great glass pieces is breathtakingly beautiful.
It was lovely to enjoy local wines, and I had a great from their lovely staff – a delightful regional crisp white wine of Italy.
We chose to start the evening meal with a choir of focaccia’s and bread, but a full Appetiser menu is available. However seeing others being served their meals, we saw generous serving sizes for the main course and decided not to fill up too early in the night – which turned out to be a wise choice.
The Royal Hotel Sanremo is very family friendly, so of course, even though I am traveling with my ten-year-old son, they were quick to suggest a child-friendly meal for him, along with the appropriate accompaniments.
For the main course, I selected Frittura reale di gamberi e calamari con Verdura e Frutta – this is Royal mixed fried prawns and squid with vegetables and fruit.
When the dinner arrived, there were also two choices of seafood sauces, and the fruits that were in this really were an incredible combination. It was quite delightful, and the wine he suggested complimented the dish of course.
I was contently full by now, but Explorason has a sweet tooth, so a chocolate dessert was a must.
After a bit of a rest, we chose to order two incredible treats.
Piccola Foresta Nera – small Black Forest chocolate tart for me and Parfait variegate al fondente e meringa – Parfait with dark chocolate and me range grains for Explorason.
I confess, I couldn’t finish my entire serving as it was more like an entire mini cake, and presented beautifully.
If you are visiting Sanremo, may I suggest you reserve a table at Fiori di Murano Sanremo Italy? It is open to both Hotel Guests and the general public.
It really did complete our stay at the Royal Hotel Sanremo (you can read about that here).
