Review: Last weekend when we were in London we decided to finish off our time with a twilight cruise, and a sunset slow spin on the London Eye.
First off is a 5 minute complimentary 4D movie. Bubbles, mist and other fun unexpected things occur.
We grab our tickets for the cruise and wait in line. It is best to get seats near the front or at the sides, but be prepared that the River Thames is a little cooler on water than walking by the side.
We pass the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
Our narrator was fun and well educated and I wish I had done this at the start of our time in London, as it really helped me get my bearings. We pass the London Eye and we can’t wait to get on!
This is a really pretty time to be on the water.
We watch cocktail bars swing into Sunday night action, and it feels warm in the evening breeze.
The sun is getting lower, and we know our timing is perfect to jump on the London Eye straight after this. Explorason is getting so excited.
Next up we are on the London Eye.
If you do get on, try to get to the outer side of the bubble at the end. Here is the best view, but they do not overcrowd the capsule, so you will find most people end up talking to each other, taking photos in turn and all moving around.
Explorafriend is really loving her time on the London Eye. She says her favorite part was that is that it went so slow, you couldn’t even feel you were moving.
Explorason says his favorite part was seeing all the pretty lights of London as they turned on one by one. He loved the interactive computer screens too.
My favorite part was the view all over London – it went for miles and miles.
And we all loved the sunset!
We loved the London Eye, and as we walked down the River Thames at the end, it was a perfect end to our time in London.
The sun finally set over the River Thames and it was goodbye to another wonderful city.
