Unwind And Watch The Sunset Pattaya Thailand

Dusit Thani Pattaya feels to us like a resort and not a hotel. Here, perched on the cliff edge, we watch the sunset in the distance, and we swim and relax. This place has everything we want, so we keep coming back – year after year.” Says a guest to me at breakfast.

We are sitting nearby and she hears our accent, and as I pass I stop to admire what she is wearing, and we start chatting.

So, what brings you back?” I ask with much interest.  We have only just arrived the night before, and I am keen to know what lures this couple back.

This hotel has everything.  We tried Bali, but ‘phew’, it doesn’t even compare to here” the husband interjects.

We have friends here now. We meet the same guests over and over again, and we all love it. See that man over there, he comes back three times a year, and that couple comes every month or two.  We are like old regulars, and the staff knows our name. This place feels a bit like home“.

And the value for money – my goodness, the price is just incredible.  What value. To a Russian, money is very important” I am told. “And Russians like the seaside – we are drawn to it. So we usually use it as a stopover between Australia and Europe“.

Welcome!

It is lovely to feel welcome here at Dusit Thani Pattaya, and on arrival, we receive a voucher for a Welcome Drink in the bar.

It is somewhat quiet because the King of Thailand passed away last month, so it is devoid of loud music, but that gives a peace and serenity to us.

We enjoy our welcome drink and the Thai service that is always with a smile.

Club Grand Room

We are on the executive Dusit Club level, and we have a Club Grand Room.

Our room has a balcony facing the length of the beach, and it even has out own outdoor shower on this huge balcony. How awesome is that? We can lie out and read a book in our swimmers, and cool off in the outside shower! Nice!!!

This extra wide balcony is also the place I go for my morning coffee (thanks to the coffee machine supplied with our room) and time of thankfulness to God.  I do this every day, and it is lovely to be in a place that looks out across to both the ocean and Pattaya Bay and the city.

Room Features

We loved the aromatherapy toiletries in large tubes, not the fiddly little ones you get in some hotels. There is also a body exfoliating pad, comb, and all the extra pieces you might need whilst away from home.

This is huge room and has a massive two-way ensuite as well complete with a separate dressing room.

Flowers, robes, slippers, and bottled water for cleaning our teeth are also provided.

I feel like this room has everything we need, and the mini-bar fridge is a huge temptation to Explorason.

The Swimming Pools

Although some of the time we were here the weather turned cloudy in the afternoon and we did experience a night shower or two, the mornings were perfect for a dip in one of the two swimming pools.

Devarana Spa

In case you haven’t noticed, I love, love, love a good spa treatment.  Devarana Spa has the BEST spa packages, and this month they have a package called ‘Pattaya Special’.  I was able to select the type of oil I desired, and prior to the

I was able to select the type of oil I desired, and prior to the hour-long full body massage, I was gently ‘scrubbed’ both sides from head to foot with the most delightful fine body scrub. My dead body cells and rough /dry skin areas like elbows, knees, and ankles were ever so thankful, and I also noticed it worked really well in removing a little of the hair as well.

My skin was so smooth and soft. And the trick is to NOT have a shower after your relaxing massage. The beautiful aromatherapy oil then gets to work its magic on your skin and it is so soft!

Lush Gardens Inside And Out

Whether you are walking back from a time of bargain shopping in the city center or strolling through the massive hotel grounds, lush green vegetation is prevalent.

We really enjoyed the Atrium area where breakfast can be consumed right by the indoor cascading waterfall.  It is so very pretty.

Evening Finger Food and Drinks

One of the privileges of an Executive ‘Dusit Club’ Room or Suite is that the Dusit Club is there for you.  This is a million dollar location, and a seat by the window is my recommendation.

Whether your preference is for a drink and some nibbles as you watch the sunset over the Pattaya Bay or a rear table that offers a little more seclusion, this is the place to be in the afternoon.

The wonderful staff also assisted me in organizing our mini-van ride to Dusit Thani Hua Hin, and the lady was a gem.

A ‘Lofty’ Breakfast

Then of course, as a Dusit Club member, there is the option for breakfast in the downstairs area or a quiet breakfast with a stunning view of the bay in The Peak restaurant at the top of the spiral stairs.

This privilege is only for Dusit Club members to enjoy this lofty breakfast.

We decided to try both!

Chinese Dinner at The Peak Restaurant

Whether you are here for a day or a week in Hua Hin, make sure you book into The Peak Restaurant.

My personal suggestion is an early dinner and to request a table by the window.  Here you will be blessed with one of the best views of Pattaya Bay.  The lights will start to twinkle on both land and sea as you sip a delightful glass of Dusit Thani wine (as I did).

We made the mistake of ordering too much food. I think the problem was that it all sounded so fabulous.  We started with the Crab and Sweetcorn Soup, and then we both asked for the Signature Dishes / Chef’s recommendations.  Both Explorason and I were delighted – we had no need to order an extra plate of vegetables, but as we just started a health kick, we did enjoy these too – especially the asparagus.

Explorason has a sweet tooth and seeing another table singing Happy Birthday as their beautiful cake arrived, we then had to, of course, try one of their desserts.

We left with very full and very contented bellies as we head down to our Club Grand Room.

Goodnight and Sweet Dreams

“Aww – How nice” we both exclaim!

It is so lovely to return to a flower on the bed; a bottle of drinking water; and even our slippers laid out – and a feeling from our personalized service that gives us that ‘warm fuzzy’feeling.

Conclusion

Dusit Thani Pattaya is a family-friendly hotel set away from the main part of town and only two hours from Bangkok.  It is perfect for the busy family who would like a vacation by the seaside.

  1. Great times you are enjoying. We also are traveling with our 11 yr old and have been homeless for 3 years. We are currently in Hawaii and staying longer while we start ortho treatment. But from here we are looking to go west to the East. Never have been to Japan,Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, but plan to eventually. We have done volunteer travel, doing services in exchange for accomodations. We trust God to provide for us, and He has been faithful. I am interested in any tips you would have as we would like to experience a nice place. Also have you found the fall to be monsoon weather, and less peak time. Where do you usually spend the holidays, does it vary?
That’s plenty of questions, thanks for replying-

    • Hi Sunny – I have edited your question and removed some of the personal questions as I do not discuss that kind of thing and would not ask you, so appreciate if you don’t ask me. I have loads of blogs on where we spend Christmas in the past if you want to use the category search on the side. We did struggle with the wet season in the last few months but we moved on if it was bad but it is officially over here in Thailand, Cambodia etc. My suggestion to you would be to look at apartments for rent. They can be from $20 a day – modern and new and by the day, week or month. Often with a pool. Japan and Singapore are more expensive and your less expensive countries will be North Thailand, Vietnam which is cheaper in the north too, and Cambodia. God is good, and yes he does provide – always so keep your faith high. I hope that helps but feel free to search the articles. Thanks

  2. Looks like a very nice experience watching sunset in Pattaya, the photo is simply breathtaking! The hotel looks very good too, I’m saving it for the future, thanks for sharing
