Accrington near Preston UK. Staying in a meadow.

We left Liverpool and our friends drove us to Accrington.

As we drove up the town street, it suddenly changed to a stony road.

Before we knew it, we were in the hills.

The view was magnificent across the meadows and green fields, looking out onto the rows of miners and row cottages below.

Our talented friend makes Yurts. But we didn’t get to sleep in one.

Instead, we slept in The Octagon.

A lovely feel to this large room, with bathroom and bedroom off to the side.

We enjoyed a great warm fire, cozy lounge, and the peace and quiet were incredible!
I am amazed at Ian’s skills.  He designed and made this building without even drawing plans from what I can work out.

Chunky wood beams made walls and floating floors. Such talent!

It was country life, and a great way to start the day with a lovely coffee and complete silence.  In the UK it is now brightening up just after 5 a.m., so I loved the quiet time to myself as my son slept.

Every nook and cranny of the garden was interesting. Statues and flower pots. Stages, fire pits and more were all about.

Explorason loved the trampoline, and he also loved having a friend to chat and play with.

As we wandered through fields of bluebells, this Travelling Minstrel is an amazing world-schooled child. She plays nicely with Explorason and they go off exploring the creek below.
We met this world traveling family in Mexico. You can read several of our blogs starting here.  We just hit it off and they invited us to stay when we reached the UK which was lovely.  They were so kind to us. We really appreciated it.

The road we travel is unique. It is different. It is challenging. It is rewarding.

To meet such lovely people along the way really enriches our journey.

As their toddler Jed holds out a dandelion for Explorason to blow and make a wish, I realize this journey is a wish come true already.
